PUMP Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how PUMP (the "App") handles your information. PUMP is a workout-logging app developed and maintained by Taj Basran ("we," "us," "our") and distributed via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The short version: PUMP runs entirely on your device. We don't have servers. We don't collect, transmit, or share any of your data. The workout history you log lives in your phone's app storage, and only you have access to it.
1. What we collect
Nothing. PUMP does not collect any personal information, workout data, device identifiers, location, contacts, advertising IDs, analytics, or crash reports. There is no account creation, no login, no tracking, and no advertising in the app.
The only data the App stores is:
- Your workout logs — strength sets, interval-timer runs, cardio sessions, personal-best records, and your in-app preferences (theme, weight unit, distance unit, custom exercise names).
This data is written to your device's local app storage (on iOS, the WebView's localStorage; on Android, the same). It never leaves your phone unless you choose to export it (see Section 4).
2. What we do NOT do
We do not:
- Operate any backend servers that receive your data
- Use third-party analytics services (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Mixpanel, etc.)
- Use third-party advertising SDKs
- Use third-party crash-reporting services
- Read your contacts, photos, location, calendar, or microphone
- Read or write any data outside the App's own sandboxed storage
- Sell, rent, share, or disclose your data to anyone — there is no data to sell, rent, share, or disclose
3. Permissions the App requests
PUMP may request the following device permissions, used only as described:
- Vibration / haptics — to play short tactile feedback when you tap to log a set or the interval timer changes phase. Used locally; no data leaves your device.
- Screen wake lock — to keep the screen lit while you're actively logging a workout, running an interval timer, or tracking cardio. Used locally; no data leaves your device.
PUMP does not request access to: location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar, motion sensors, Bluetooth, network identifiers, or notifications (in v1).
4. Your data, your control
The App provides built-in tools to:
- Export your data as a JSON backup file (Settings → Data → Export backup) or a CSV spreadsheet (Settings → Data → Export CSV). Both files are downloaded to your device; nothing is uploaded.
- Import a backup from a previously exported JSON file (Settings → Data → Import backup) to restore data on a new device or after clearing app storage.
- Delete your data at any time by deleting individual entries from the History tab, by tapping "Reset All" on the Sets tab, or by uninstalling the App entirely (which removes all locally stored data along with it).
5. Children's privacy
PUMP is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13 (or any age) — see Section 1.
6. Changes to this policy
If this Privacy Policy ever changes (for example, if PUMP later adds an optional cloud-sync feature), we will publish the updated policy at the URL where this document is hosted and update the Effective date at the top. Any future feature that involves transmitting data off your device will be opt-in — we won't change the local-only model silently.
7. Contact
PUMP is published by Holden ERP Solutions Inc., Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
